Hey folks, it’s forecast for low 70’s in Sactown this weekend … which i find very, very hard to believe ~ because every time we’ve scratched spandex up there in past editions of this race, it seems like we do nothing but bleed sweat from every inch.
The Golden State Crit is in a very civilized corporate park with fat, shady trees everywhere and extremely acceptable food and drink available within walking distance. There is plenty of parking and the course is wicked fun.
For those mountain goats looking for a perfect leg/lung opener (after your big rests this week…i know you have been, you bastard climbers!) ~ the Golden State Crit is just what the doctor ordered. You won’t overheat with the mild temps, you’ll get in some safe&fast speedwork, and be left hungry and ready for the 20miles of uphill awaiting us at Hamilton.
I plan on getting out there early to snap pics and interview racers and spectators. It’s time I put up a video again … my blip.tv station is stale from inaction … gotta represent!
AND, the awesome blokes at Rio Strada gave me free entries to the races!!!
In return, i’ll definitely shoot a hun’erd pictures and try and string together a narrative on video that won’t be too hard to follow. But, at least you know the music will keep you thumpin.
I’ll also be passing any prize money i pull down to their Junior Program up in Sacto … and, it’s just scary how many powerful, COOL junior riders we’ve got sprouting up from programs in the Sacto/Davis area. Just so good.
A great youth program is the NorCal High School Mountain Bike League. Some teams are collecting prizes&primes and shipping them off to the League at the end of the year. If your team is interested in joining in on that kind of action, may I suggest checking out there website?
All right then, gotta get back to the grind here in labor land ~ but, be sure to pre-reg if you can for the races this weekend. I hope to see you there … and please look sexy if you catch me snapping a pic of you (but, i’m still tryin’ to work some magic with the spycam, yo).
