french icons swashbuckle at the front, and behind. moreau, chavanal, voekler … taunting ‘des jeux.
-
the sprint train, once Boonen’s now Bettini builds steam, rages, redeems …
-
then Fabian’s swiss missile attack. improbable, impossible … but twice.
-
Valverde, still there, golden when sprint comes to sight, another … another
uphill stage for Spain? But the god of thunder’s blinding rush and ominous Kirchen’s gathering speed overtake, but not dislodge.
-
a Tour for afficianados.

Hey Michael,
Put “SPOILER ALERT” in your headline! I was checking out your site for the lastest of Leesville Gap and oops! found out the winner of Stage 2. Just kidding! Have a great day
good finish for Thor…must be that homemade Nordic food
in the campervan
I think this time the Frenchies got it right, by dropping the prologue schmologue. Boring 2 miles anyway.
A good fight to the finish, thanks to the breaks. Especially satisfying to see Valverde swashbuckling right up to the end: it may not make any tactical sense, but it harkens to a different era for a genuine GC contender to be up front jockeying for position even in a sprint finish.
