The VOS CrossLobster is going to a good home
There’s this youngster that VOS Racing‘s GordonMartine (KIDWELLS owner in Pacific Grove and all-around great supporter of cycling in NorCal) and SteveGile (the sprinter, the cross’er, the volunteer … hawtness) are hooking into cyclocross this fall. (Hey now … that’s in a month. And don’t we have that crazy-talk VegasCross coming via INterBiKe).
-
More details will come on the new dirt VOS’ster and his progress through the Cyclocross season.
he’ll be much faster on it than i was.
trust me.
- – -
but more of bikes, yes?
yes, i believe that’s what it does. I have a custom Hunter fork being fashioned and repainted … and, oops ~ forgot to mention to MaryAnne that Gio was wanting his touched up, too.
Dammit.
-
this bicycle and i are going to get to know each other very, very very well.

another RocklobStar sinking teeth
the Rocket went to BethNewell earlier than it should have … but, i’m injured and she needs to f’ing start going fast on the road to get even faster at the track.
The transfer of bike comes about for more reasons than just spreading sponsorship … it’s also about highlighting and supporting awesome young folks who crank on stuff like social conscience and civic action …
but, that will be blah’blah’d about later.
-
For now, the rocket has a good home, too.

My New Partner
I have my new Frayer. Had to wait a few weeks for it ’cause femme’fatal fabricator Frayer was free-styling around France for a full-month of 120K ft elevation gain of pedaling … her first summer after a total knee replacement.
-
The woman is unbelievable.
… and knows bike riding like you wouldn’t believe.
--
This new beauty is a ver2.0 of my long-lived, much-hammered, holy roller that finally succumbed to the elements last fall. That bike had skimmed alpine glacial paths and ski-hopped ghetto strewn bottle shards for years and with internally-routed panache suited to both and everything ‘tween.
-
race, cruise, kill’n it … that bike was sliced from perfect pie.
-
and now i’ve got a tricked nuevo rig to spring and bound upon. it’s a bit stiff’d up in the rear and custom’fied a few millimeters in the bottombracket for hops. With a fork to paint and thoughts brewing about gruppos&shifting what’nots … the future adventures bubble with anticipation.
a lovely swing of then into now.

my fetish for sale
it’s true … i tried a Fetish out as TT bike and realized that … like any good Fetish, there was some pain involved in the execution.
bike was great, but TTs are stupid and should be outlawed.
and since i will never do one again in my life (or at least until next season) … the Fetish is set free.
-
but it also performed some kool bike-robatics in a corpo-crit down SantaBarbara way earlier this year. Some socal sprintbaggers swooped me up a few meters to the line after i did my dying in a couple lap bout of solo’itis.
it wasn’t close when they nailed me back. bastards.
.
anyway, i’ll probably try and sell the Fetish.
at some point.

Hope your back heals up quickly and fully. Was that why you were fiddling with position on Sunday?
So, rest up and let your body knit. That’s the scheduled workout. Juuuust lie back and think of England.
Should I mention Jonathon’s RockLobster problems on Sunday?
nothing new in a big strong guy snapping a chainstay on an ultra-trick racing rig.
Paul’s got his bike back to him on Thursday, it sounds like.
Jon was feeling golden on Saturday, too. Dan was up in the break, killing himself, and Jon was ready to play his cards.
we’ll get him there soon.
thanks again Sadoff for taking care of us like pros!

Sorry, problems on Saturday I should have said.
Hey, you cropped me out of my Facebook profile picture.
thanks dude, you are the best!! and, haha, you linked my defunct health care blog. i didn’t get quite as many readers on that one…
you didn’t show them your panties
good on you for paying the bicycle wealth forward. Hope you’re feeling better soon. Injuries suck!
anxious to know how that new steed rides. as the fabricator i always worry that i screwed up something in the jig,the angles didn’t come out the way they are supposed to, made it too stiff, too soft, too long, too short, agh! The drama of it all.
sending good juju to heal that back…backs are trickey.
My God that Hunter is sexy… I want one
