kristin_wins_stillwater.jpgNature Valley Grand Prix … ON TV!!!

Check it, check it, check it folks. Once was OLN, now goes by Versus will be playing the NVGP this Saturday, Aug 16th at 2:30pm for you of the bittercoasteast, and so 11:30am here in lalaLand.

it’s the race your new GOLD MEDALIST won a few weeks ago.

    .

They’ll play it again Tuesday the 19th … but check the FLYER for more info and to see who and how it all happens..

    very cool stuff.

    ..

i loves me some Kristin Armstrong.

    - – - – -

Specialized … i’ve had a few sips of the Kool-Aid

adam_settin_the_rig.jpgand … it tastes light and crispy,

    like a carbon weave.

Adam had me riding one of his sweet&sexy Roubaix-bies. .

now … many will know that i love me the indie-crafted bike madmanufactured with hands both local and wildlife inspired.

    -

    .

yescommrade.jpgAnd hell yes, i’ve railed a bit on the Specialized choices of concept storing the small retailer into debt or abandonment.

    ..

but gawdamn … that bike and equipment Adam had me scampering roadways-wise was … amazingly engineered and fitted like a loving glovey-dovey.

    .

    i think i’ve just been … Specialized.

    .

    oh_you_guys.jpgcrap.

The bike weighed under 16lbs and was stable like structured to do so, you know? The front end trailed out a bit over the sweet 60mm, so flowed long and strong, letting you buckle-tight for bomb running dives and descending downward delights.

the stability has a small cost in making the front end just a hair slower when standing high, but it doesn’t matter regarding performance ~ because i can say, with a shrug of “eh, whatyagonnado”, that the rear-end of this SpecializedRoubaix was the stiffest, quickest, yet compliant bike i’ve ever ridden.

    .

and i’ve ridden a bit. really.

We were doing a photoshoot, first on EurekaCanyon’s drops … then, up and over Mt.MadonnaTop. The photocats we rolled with were of the variety i wish i had more contact with … socially aware, hip with the wit, and ready to toss down salsa when work needs to be done.

    .crazy_mofos.jpg

HotShotScot and UgandaMike – good guys to bomb down a mountain with. just a damn fun time.

we got pics of gloves and helmet, kit and pimp’d shoes … and, of course, the Roubaix was perched and secret-tested on some of their new chingon wheels.

    .

… gotta say folks … Specialized stuff

    .

    ~ i’m taking another look.

From political pundit to promo man for Versus and Specialized. What can you be flamed for in this spot?

OBAMA WILL NEVER RIDE A SPECIALIZED.

How about, though, a little rant over the bull riding, extreme cage fighting channel. I mean thanks and all for giving us our two-wheeled spectacle, but umpteen weeks later. I want daily coverage of all the grand tours again. Wah.

But clearly, THE REPUBLICANS WILL TROUNCE THE DEMOCRATS IN FALL AND PURGE THE SISSY PROGRAMING ON VERSUS, LEAVING ONLY THE MANLY SPORTS THAT PREPARE US TO GO INTO UNNECESSARY WARS.

(please forgive this strange post as I am sleep deprived from too much work and olympic coverage).

      thanks so much Mike!

also, Kristin Armstrong finished first overall woman in her ramp-up training for the Olympics at the Sequoia Cycling Classic in March….and her time would have put her in the top 25 Pro Men field….

      crazzzy fast!!
