Congrats Shelley — sorry for blowing the finish line shot (I sense an equipment upgrade pre-Vegas)

      Shelley is rad~
That is a very good win for the local girl who made good.

Be sure and check out the Folsom results. Poulsen won the Crit and the Omnium. A good way for VOS to end the year.
But check out the Circuit race results. Your boy Keith DeFiebre won the Circuit race with Rock Racing’s Kevin Klein in second and VOS Dan Martin in third. That must have been a battle.
Rumor has it you have been coaching DeFiebre and all those tips must have paid off for him to top that field & take out Klein and Martin in the end.

      your a good man Mike

okay, thats funny…and a little bit freaky.

That race was insane, Proman, Aarons, Webcor and Cheerwine put on a show. Kat C. and Christine T. were amazing. The break looked to be long gone, then w/ 3 to go, Meredith Miller (Aarons) closed the 15 sec gap in one lap! Christine never got off the front and shredded the field in the last 2 laps. Shelley played it perfect and killed the sprint!

There is some killer footage (and a very stoked Shelley) on cyclistvillage…

Twilight and the Giro was some of the best women’s racing I have ever seen.

I’ve been saying this all Road season long, promoters would do themselves a WORLD of good to start promoting Cat 1/2 women’s races equal to men’s. You will see even more tactical and fast races, excited crowds come to see women, and with more money stronger women coming to town. Keep an eye on Code Three Women’s Racing, next year we’ll be a force.

I took 3.5 year old daughter to the race to watch the women. We had a fantastic time. The venue was awesome and that was one of the most exciting crit’s i’ve seen in a long time. I loved how all the superstars were off the front killing it for the last part of the race. Kat Carrol was incredible, Christine was nuts, and it was super exciting to see shelly win in a sprint.

I still can’t believe they brought the break back so quickly.

Shelly was a one-woman storm of awesome that night (not that she’s not an OWSOA all the time). Worked the break which totally destroyed most of her companions, then worked through the field to ice the field. The whole team did a great job of covering the front when the break was away, moving teammates up through the huge but rapidly dwindling field before then, and clearing the path for her at the end.

And who was the Los Gatos racer there at the end who looked to be about 12 years old? Gutsy. And cheers to her teammate JV: only a few years ago, when she started racing, she had a crit phobia due to a bad crash. Now she’s in there with the big dogs. Uh, lipstick on a pig?

karla? i’m pretty sure she is 25.
i *at least* know she is of legal drinking age because we played “big buck hunter” a few weeks ago at a bar.

fyi- she was really good at that too. it’s cause she is from the upper peninsula and hunting is in her veins.

Although Karla was the highest-placed LGBRC rider, I think Dan is referring to Kimberly Fong, who is a senior at UC-Berkeley.

      yo Bryan!

good to hear from you, bud. UCI? That’s rather ironic, enit? You go from racing UCI to attending UCI. showoff.

i’ve lived around that area and travel’d through it a bunch. Actually, i think i did some landscape work on that campus back when i was real young. place was pretty cool, even if it’s a repube’lican stronghold. Stranglehold, really.

right on man, keep me posted on developments and i’ll shoot you an email, too.
