The homegrown, world fabulous … the dropdeadbeauties … Shelley Olds and Daniel Holloway earned their first Professional US National Scratch Championship Titles.
It is sweet to think of all the people who share a bit of glory and reward for such accomplishments. Both Shelley and Daniel came up through the San Jose local ranks, got the fundamentals from HometownHellyer … and established themselves qualified to take step onto the top of the podium.

Just looked at the results on USA cycling. D-Holla won again! In the Madison this time. Makes for 4 jerseys, I think….. Madison, Points (espoirs-sp?)Scratch,Team Pursuit. The punk kid has had a good year, enjoyed seeing him race Tour of Missouri. Of course Shelly is awsome….

It was a great day for Hellyer, who has now kept the scratch title in house for 3 years in a row. Daniels ride was pure domination…lapping the field twice, then winning the bunch sprint for good measure.
Shelley stuck to her game plan and executed perfectly, jumping across to a late move by A Powers w/ 3 to go, then blowing past her w/ Kacey M. in tow. She couldn’t pull up to let Kacey work cause she had teammate T Cliff Ryan sitting in the field ready to pounce, so Shelley ramped it up and razored for 2 laps to victory. So sweet!
I have a bunch of pics to post from the weekend, so stay tuned.

We have been trying to tell the world that Hellyer is one of the hardest tracks. I am glad we have the crew backing up all our shit talk now.
Now Gio can say he is from Hellyer with pride next year with his regular Fixie Gypsee trek across the country….
