Dear M. Ball,
Glad Rock Racing is here to stay. I was unfamiliar with your product, so checked the interwebs. I see that Rock and Republic sells women’s jeans.
.
Well … you might be interested in reading, hearing, and watching race some amazing women from the NorCal.
.
These are women who influence people.
Bike racers ~
beth newell, the queen of kieren cut, herself
-- vanderkitten women, kieren & cut
- - shelley olds and PROMAN Racing {key-run}
- - Kat Carroll, big keiren-ium
- - and doubling-up with the PRO Women’s Criterium and Road Champion ~ BrookeMiller.

Yup, real women doing the coolest shit around …
Racing bikes in hot clothes. I reckon there’s money to be made there…

called out…
Do you remeber that he at least sponsored a women’s cycling team? Yes, it didn’t work out and he is cutting the program this year, but tell me two other pro mens team that also had a women’s team. Let’s see… Colavita and…hmmmm, thats interesting, I can’t think of any others.
Uh, Beth is in there with kind of an elite crowd, don’t you think?
Columbia (High Road, T-mobile) also has a women’s team…
Sorry, I meant domestic pro teams. But yes, Colombia does have a women’s pro team and hats off to them. All I’m saying is that he’s done more for womens cycling (although not much) then 9/10ths of the other pro team managers out there. He even sponsored a junior team.
Kathryn Curi-Mattis? hmmmm, name rings a bell.
girls in jeans Rule!
girls that ride a bicycle and wear jeans Rule even more!
Never heard of those women. They must not be too hot.
There is not enough doping in women’s racing for Ball to be interested.
doh! i know i didn’t put Kat CuriMattis in … i thought about it a couple hours after doing the post … but, just didn’t make time to fix it.
obviously, i’m still mad at her for hooking up with James.
that kind of hot should remain on the market.

and as for the hijacked “M.Ball”‘s comment – sorry Fresno, you’ll never be LA OR NorCal. Always fresno.

The point of this post is not to bash Ball’stein more than the obvious and what has already been done, repeatedly.
The point is to help remind those who enter/are in the cycling industry – that women’s racing is a HUGE marketing opportunity right now.
As CYCLING is…
With Versus doing TV “chase L’Armstrong around the world” again … it might be worth noting that there is very film’able stuff going on right around the corner, too.
I’d love to see Versus show up at Hellyer to watch some track racing. Hell, they could even have a crew set up at T-Town, LA, maybe up in Minnesota, or even Texas, ETC.
Track racing, if done like a party, is … hella watchable, and very strong over TV.
you can sell stuff over TV…

The point of this post is … JOIN IN.
and profit from it, cycling industry.

Rachel Maddow is hot, even though she doesn’t race a bike
let’s get her on a bike
It is so wrong that an American rider can just win a Cyclocross UCI World Cup race, and they have to buy their own break levers. Compton just beat all the Euro’s with Gould in 3rd place, two Americans on the UCI Wold Cup podium. Compton should be getting some serious backing from USA Cycling. There is no reason these athelets should not be getting big dollars to be the best. Too bad it is a good old boy net work, because these ladies should be getting much more support and much more press then they recieve now.
Complete, frequently updated, well-written, well-designed English-language Women’s cycling news site. We need one.
Will write 4 food.
Unfortunately we cant rely on USA Cycling, especially for cross. They way I understand it, USA Cycling is funded based on Olympic medal potential, since cross is not an Olympic sport, that makes the medal potential pretty low! We can whine all we want, but ultimately it’s up to us to find creative (and sustainable) ways to fund our athletes. If we cant figure it out ourselves, the clamor for funding and handouts will lead us to more douchebags like M.Ball and title sponsors like AMGEN (bring on the flames).
