Peak Season CX Numero Tres this Sunday!

Here’s word from the man, the legend, the hairy beast ~

sexly.jpgHowdy folks- held this Sunday 1/18/09 at Pinto Lake County Park in Watsonville, Peak Season CX Race #3 will also serve as the Santa Cruz County Cyclocross Championships.

We have custom Chuey-brand cycling caps to give out to the highest placed Santa Cruz County resident in each of our 19 categories.

Once again, free hot dogs, free kids race, free, umm, sunshine, apparently.

Preregistration is available on our website but will close Saturday 1/17 at 12 noon.

Thank you,

David Gill
Peak Season Race Director and Chief Rain Dancer

Caletti Show at Tour of Cali

Here’s the word ~

hawtness.jpgIn anticipation of the Amgen Tour of California, Caletti Cycles will be featured in a dazzling display of custom bicycles handmade by local craftsmen right here in Santa Cruz, CA.

Starting mid-January, local builders will showcase their hand crafted creations at Plaza Lane Optometry, located at 1537 Pacific Ave in the heart of downtown Santa Cruz. The display will be up until mid-March and will include unique one-of-a-kind bicycles in a variety of styles including time trial, road, mountain, cross and townies made by Caletti, Rock Lobster, Hunter and Black Cat.

… awww yeah.  If you haven’t seen some of the amazing work being put out by our local craftsmen … this is the perfect time to check it out.  I’m hoping to be able to save enough scratch for a Caletti CX machine next year.

oh my, I now realize i’ve got a Hunter, a Lobster … only one missing will be a BlackCat.

hmm ~ i think i smell a 29′er SS in my future…

Langley’s Wrench Guide RAWKS!

jimlangleycover.jpgJim Langley is an icon of the sCruzian mountains … a master wheelbuilder, silky smooth wrench of legend, and one helluva bike racer.

And now he’s put out an eBook, “Your Home Bicycle Shop” available from RoadBikeRider.com.  It’s cake to order, damn affordable, arrives in your inbox immediately, and you can easily print off any illustration or page needed for your home repair job.

That’s ten times radness right there, folks.

do I hear 29ss in your future. You won’t need any other off-roadie type bike once you join that club. It is the end all be all of dirt cycleage. (so I think anyway)
