Memorial Ride for Chris Hipp

Good evening,
I’ve heard that last night’s Valley Ride was extremely well-attended, around 150-200 people. I am glad to know that so many friends came out mid-week to honor Chris, and I hope the stoplights cooperated enough to allow for the Hipp-dominated sprints at Sand Hill and Page Mill.
I’d just like to post a brief update regarding an organized memorial ride I gleaned from my digital stalkings.
On Sunday, Sassan Golafshan will be heading up a ride/open-house, leaving from Form Fitness in Palo Alto:
Chris Hipp Memorial ride this Sunday leaving Form Fitness at 9:00am
(445 bryant st. palo alto ca 94301).
Open house from noon-5:00pm bring a dish, beer, or anything else you can share.
Out of town folks are welcome to ship their bikes to Form Fitness for
the ride and we’ll help ship them back on Monday.
Given the widespread readership of this blog, I have removed the address and phone number for the open-house. If you need this information, I am sure you will be able to find it elsewhere.
As far as I can tell, this ride will be amenable to all ability levels. It’s for everyone who knew, respected and loved Chris Hipp, not for those who feel a need to work on their lactate threshold.
To those of you who will be racing at that time, or otherwise unable to make it to the ride, I am confident that Chris would approve of your efforts.
