Laguna Del Sol, Wilton
17 December 2011
After encouraging impressionable children and those of puritan-heart to depart the field, the Sacramento Cyclocross Series held a Bare-Naked Cyclocross race. At Laguna Del Sol, a clothing-optional resort, racers and spectators alike still had not had their plenty of the barren human form, despite the abundant sightings of local colonists throughout the day. After the last race, fully thirteen racers, mostly men, one double-xer, took to the starting line wearing their helmet, shoes, socks, gloves, and…well, their bicycle. Giggles and smiles rippled through the crowd as they lined-up on one side of the course beyond the start-line, leaning over the tape to gather in splendid views of flesh. And, almost as a solitary mass of frenzied googly-eyed peepers, the crowd stormed to an opposite leg of the course to catch a second glimpse of the stark spectacle, once the divested ‘cross cyclists raced on by. All good sports in their dishabille, the racers took one turn of the course. On the backside (pun intended), the racers were uproariously cheered by those more experienced in nudism. Upon their return across the finish-line, racers quickly took to their clothing in the chilling late-in-day air. After all, its the cultural phenomenon once embraced by the television…there is shrinkage.
Due to the lack of bib-numbers, the list of participants is unavailable at time of press.
