Day 3 of the USAC 2012 National Cyclo-cross Championships had a full slate of races with seven Junior categories, eight races, and ten championships in all. Temperatures reached into the high 40s on a mostly cloudy day and may have reached the 50°F mark. The course constantly changed as much of it became thick sticky mud by the end of the day. Master Women 35-39 Championship winner Sally Annis (crossresults.com) changed bikes each lap to keep from trucking around all the mud.
Three ‘cross racers represented Northern California. Ed Rambuski (Team Rambuski Law) came in 20th for Master Men 50-54, a race that was simply dominated by eventual winner Stephen Tilford. Madeleine Myall (California Giant Cycling) raced to 10th place in Junior Women 17-18. Ellen Sherrill (Bike Station Aptos) took 7th in Master Women 30-34 and exhibited excellent passing skills through the technical corners.
