• Nation of Flandria: TDF GC Contender #3

Tour de France is fast approaching…brush up on peloton terminologies.

Current owner of the TDF yellow jersey is Cadel Evans.  Clearly, BMC will mainly focus on defending the title overall again.  The man to do it would be Cadel Evans.  A very eccentric man but at the same time, a loving father and husband.  Check out his professional website which included his wife Chiara’s Corner about her life on the road with Cadel.  That’s a really nice touch.  Follow Cadel’s tweets while you are at it.  Didn’t know he also had a book out called “Cadel Evans: Long Road to Paris.”   There was also a documentary called “Yell for Cadel” but don’t bother wasting your money on the dvd.  Trust me.

BMC’s performance and teamwork last year was phenomenal.  Is that going to be the case this year?  The odds are positive.  Not a lot of team drama, still very focused on GC overall, team pretty much in tact, more motivation and so far, really looking good, eh?  The team is there to support Cadel 100%.  Knocking out Andy Schleck and Alberto Contador, Cadel’s chance of winning is even better.  There are so many positives on their side but with the TDF, anything can happen.  Surviving the first few stages of crashes and illness are challenges ahead.  Overall, BMC is looking really good!

Going back to Cadel.  This guy is quite eccentric.  Always has a white towel on his neck after the race, squeeky voice and strange ways of dealing with spectators and media.  Here is another one.  Quite an irritable bike racer, but after suffering through each stage who wouldn’t be?

Are you a Cadel Evans fan?
