• Some Patterson Pass

Cal Cup is underway!  I sometimes go to Velopromo just to see if they have posted results, i’m an optimist like that, and saw that the University RR is cancelled!  I blame Barack Obama.  Obviously this road construction is some WPA kinda crap coming out of Washington.  Nobody fixes anything over there if they don’t have too.

    Warnerville TT

Lacking any relevant data like and email or tweet i tried to pick a winner from Alex Chiu’s photos.  That my friends, is responsible journalism.   Then i checked twitter and saw that Cal Giant’s Torey Phillipp (#toreyphilipp) won the men’s race.  No word on the women’s race yet…

    Patterson Pass

Women P123: It was a thin field at Patterson due to the big money crit down by the bay. Whatever the reasons behind a small field, it looks like the Stevens/Pactimo squad will make a run at the Cup this year. The following short dispatch is from Stevens Pactimo manager Bill Nicely.

Patterson Pass RR with only ten starters due to both the State Masters categories and the women doing that and State Elite Crit same day. Amy Thornquist rode away from the selection of five from the base of the first climb to the finish to win by over four minutes. Fiona Strouts of Stevens out sprints the chasers for second.

Men P12:  One source sent me photos which i think is better than results.  But in case you are not of the same mind that Gaullic looking rider, who obviously about to throw his hands in the air, and is not actually in a horrible aero position, is Cal Giant’s new best thing, Torey Phillipp.  Phillipp will be going into the next few rounds of Cal Cup with a huge lead. Ok, caption contest time…

If anybody has the masters info for Patterson I’ll break my rule of “P12 Only” and write something up since it’s you championships.  We want to make you feel special.  Just don’t go doping and winning Grand Fundos if we don’t get to it.
