Happy Thanksgiving from NorCal Cycling News.
After the disappointment with losing the Golden Gate Park venue, Clif Bar Bay Area Super Prestige Cyclocross is moving on and returns to Candlestick Point for post Thanksgiving racing.
Last week’s rains definitely affected the courses and racing over the weekend. It was obvious, however, that the previously dry grounds were very capable of absorbing much of the precipitation. Expectations for the third visit to Candlestick Point are for much less dust. After his walk through, Tom Simpson, of Pilarcitos CycleSports, does report the course is “soggy” and “green as Paddy’s pig.”
Simpson is also bringing along the ‘Bridge of Sighs’ for a clockwise course and says “there will be the best racing conditions that our staff and our Army of Roaring Mice can produce.” The course will venture onto new sections of the Park.
