The Women’s Peloton Podcast series is back this week with cyclist and author Katheryn Bertine. Katheryn Bertine made news in the cycling world the last year with her column in ESPN-W chronicleing her attempt to make the 2012 Olympics riding for St. Kitts & Nevis. Bertine talks about her quest for the Olympics, women’s cycling in developing nations, and her new film which takes on the big dogs, like the UCI, and how the establishment in cycling views women.
In addition to her cycling career she is currently at work on a new documentary film about womens cycling and writes various freelance articles in the sports journalism field, including ESPN, Triathlete, Inside Triathlon and US Weekly. In addition to writing books, Bertine has a secret desire to act on the big screen as well as explore the world of broadcast sports journalism. She’ll try to take it one day at a time, but makes no promises.
