• Ben Jacques Maynes Interview: Primetime Podcast

It is pledge drive time so don’t forget to support NCCN this season so we can continue to bring you timely and somewhat error free coverage of NorCal races!

This interview is nice and timely given the ATOC roster announcement today!  Ben’s squad Team Jamis/Hagen Berman p/b Sutter Home was on the list of teams invited to the Tour of California.  I apologize in advance for the sound quality.  I used a new mic set up and it caused a little echo in the recording.  Ben was interesting as always and his views on Merco, racing domestically vs internationally, riding on “the other side of the hill”, and the Bear Development team are a great way to get some inside views of what is going on in NorCal.

Episode: Primetime: Ben Jacques Maynes & Dan Smith

Host Ted Burns catchs up with Ben Jacques Maynes (Team Jamis Hagen Berman pb Sutter Home) fresh after his second place performance at Merco Cycling Classic.  Ben weighs in on his new team, where he rides in NorCal and how he opted for the domestic peloton over a life overseas.

We also catch up with Dan Smith, founder and creator of Sportelo coaching services (sportvelo.com.)  Dan has worked in cycling since the late 80s in one capacity or another.  Dan is a passionate racer and former mechanic to the Euorpean peloton.  Dan currently coaches some of NorCal’s top cyclists and he gives us a quick preview of Madera and his thoughts on the what’s going on in Europe.
