NCCN is dedicated to the NorCal cycling community and support local cycling businesses. If we get a chance to visit a bike shop, we will feature it on NCCN with permission of course. Check out our first featured NorCal bike shop!
Cupertino Bike Shop is one of those bike store that can be compared to comfort food. There is history and the shop is a big supporter of local teams in NorCal. If you visit their website at http://www.cupertinobikeshop.com/, you will see the World Championship stripes above the bike shop name on their icon. Is that cool or what? There are memorabilias hanging around the store that’s really worth the visit.
“Cupertino Bike Shop was opened in 1953, and started selling Gary Fisher mountain bikes in 1982. Today the shop carries mainly Specialized mountain bikes, as well as a large selection of road bikes, tandems, and bicycle parts and accessories.”
Grass root right there.
The bike store really gives you a sense that the staff working in the store are very knowledgeable and can help the customers’ cycling needs.
“Vance Sprock, the owner of the shop, is a road cyclist of some renown – Vance came third in the US National Road Championship (Junior Men) in Louisville, Kentucky, in 1976. Look out for Vance on his custom-made mountain bike if you ever ride the trails at Stevens Canyon or Fremont Older.”
Yesterday, I got a chance to stop by the store to meet some awesome folks to help me. Peter was at the register when I paid for my Osmo Active Hydration tub. He just came back from a bike shop group ride. Great customer service overall. The bike store also offers services for the bikes. There is a white board above the mechanic station with prices for bike services.
The store is packed with cycling goodies including GoPro helmet cams! Everything cycling related one can ever need or want for their bike ride.
