    Host Ted Burns catchs up with Ben Jacques Maynes (Team Jamis Hagen Berman pb Sutter Home) fresh after his second place performance at Merco Cycling Classic. Ben weighs in on his new team, where he rides in NorCal, and how he opted for the domestic peloton over a life overseas. We also catch up with Dan Smith, founder and creator of Sportelo coaching services (sportvelo.com.) Dan has worked in cycling since the late 80s in one capacity or another. Dan is a passionate racer and former mechanic to the Euorpean peloton. Dan currently coaches some of NorCals top cyclists and he gives us a quick preview of Madera and his thoughts on the whats going on with the European peloton.

    PrimeTime host Ted Burns and Cyclocross Magazine editor Host Molly Hurford talk to some of the stars of US Cyclocross as they get ready for their reace in Louisville on Sunday February 3. 9 time US Champion Katie Compton, Meredith Miller, and US U23 Chamion Katlin Antonneau all took time to chat with us over the weekend in the final days before the biggest cross race the US has ever seen.

    Ted Burns interviews Now and Novartis Director Sportif, Kurt Stockton. A former Professional Cyclist (both road and off-road), Professional Team Owner and Manager and a 20+ year cycling industry veteran. Kurt was the co-owner and General Manager of the Kodak Gallery/Sierra Nevada Professional Cycling team 2005-2007, during which time we had one of the top professional road cycling teams in the United States racing both domestically and internationally.

    CX Worlds with Guest Host Molly Hurford In our first episode of Prime Time we catch up with Guest Host Molly Hurford who is the Editor of Cyclocross Magazine and author of Mud, Snow, and Cyclocross: How Cross Took Over the US.     WOMEN’S PELOTON

    Tanya Dubnicoff is a retired track cyclist from Canada. She won four gold medals at the Pan American Games. She represented Canada at three consecutive Summer Olympics, starting in 1992. She was inducted into the Manitoba Sports Hall of Fame and Museum in 2002. She lives in California, coaching junior cyclists, as well as the Canadian team. Tanya just finished a 2-day track camp and chose to train at Hellyer Velodrome.

    Katheryn Bertine made a splash in the cycling world the last year with her column in ESPN-W chronicleing her attempt to make the 2012 Olympics riding for St. Kitts & Nevis. In addition to her cycling career she is currently at work on a new documentary film about womens cycling and writes various freelance articles in the sports journalism field, including ESPN, Triathlete, Inside Triathlon and US Weekly. In addition to writing books, Bertine has a secret desire to act on the big screen as well as explore the world of broadcast sports journalism. She’ll try to take it one day at a time, but makes no promises.

    Jen See is a former editor of Podium Cafe, writing as Gavia, and frequent contributor to Bicycling, and Cycling Illustrated. Jen has interviewed national, world, and Olympic champions from around the world. Her writing has appeared online at Bicycling, Cyclingnews, Cycling Illustrated, Podium Cafe, Steephill, VeloNews, and in print at Mountain Flyer Magazine. Jen See has logged many hours on the bike as a former racer and frequently covers women in cycling.

    Nicola Cranmer is a pioneer in womens cycling. Several years ago she founded a racing team and grew it into Exergy 2012, a world wide powerhouse program focused on delivering women to the Olympics. Most top American women have passed through Cranmers program at some point, and this year alone it produced two Olympic medalists Kristin Armstrong (Gold – ITT), and Lauren Tamayo (Silver – Team Pursuit.) Cranmer is also a actively involved in USAC on various committees.

    Megan Guarnier has been racing out of Northern California for several years. After time on regional and US programs like Proman, and TIBCO, Guarnier will be making the leap full time to Europe to race with the “Rabobank” squad in 2013. Guarnier turned heads in 2011 after winning the Giro di Toscana, one of the most prestigious womens races in cycling, and then won the 2012 US National Championship roadrace. NorCal Cycling News catches up with Guarnier to talk about womens cycling and how her evolution from rookie to pro unfolded over the last several years.

    NorCal CyclingNews Womens Peloton is very honored to have Dr Stacy Sims for our next episode. We will chat about nutrition strategies in training for women of all ages and talk about the challenges as a female athlete. Dr. Sims served as an exercise physiologist and nutrition scientist at Stanford University from 2007-2012 where she worked as an environmental exercise physiologist and nutrition scientist specializing in recovery, and nutritional adaptations for health, body composition, and maximizing performance. Dr. Sims earned a BA from Purdue University, an MSc from Springfield College, a doctorate from University of Otago, and was a postdoctoral research fellow in cardiovascular disease prevention, thermoregulation, and women’s health at Stanford University. Stacy raced crew as an undergraduate at Purdue University and competes as a Cat 1 road cyclist and elite XTerra triathlete.

    Emily Kachorek had her breakout pro season in 2011 winning the sprinters jersey at the Sea Otter Classic Pro Stage Race and finishing an impressive 7th at the National Championship Road Race. Despite being sidelined by an injury late in the 2011 season, she’s come back strong in 2012 to finish 1st at the 2012 Tour de Murrieta TT and 2nd in the General Classification. She then went on to an impressive 6th place overall finish at the SRAM Tour of the Gila against the deepest and fastest field that the race has ever seen.

    Kelly Crowley, a sports fanatic who happened to be born with a “funny right arm,” is a Paralympic gold medalist in swimming (2004), a world-champion cyclist (Para-cycling Time Trial, 2007), and a professional cyclist. She is a member of the U.S. Paralympic Cycling Team for the London 2012 Paralympic Games. Results Paralympics 2012 Bronze: Individual Time Trial and Road Race

    Vanderkitten Jono Coulter talks about womens cycling and his Vanderkitten pro womens cycling team. Jono is the DS or Director Sportive for one of the most successful womens cycling team in NorCal.
