You’ve probably met some juniors in your lifetime. If you know a kid that’s 15-16 years old get him to fill this out and see if you can’t get him over to the big show in Europe. While your at it talk his parents into, it and help him fund it.
This survey serves as a request to be invited to one of the two USA Cycling Boys’ 15/16 European Race Camps.
- Camp A is scheduled for July 9 – July 29.
- Camp B is scheduled for July 30 – August 19.
Both camps will have very similar offerings with just enough differentiation to make each experience unique. The purpose of the 15/16 European Race Camp is to create a learning opportunity for highly motivated young riders by exposing them to the subtleties and specific nuances of international competition and life in a foreign country.
The cost for the camp is $1500 (down from $4200) and includes travel, housing at the USAC European Training Center (Sittard, NED), food, and incidental expenses for the duration of the camp. Camp activities will include races in Belgium (two per week), bike handling drills, strategy sessions, general training rides, and cultural activities. Camp participants in the past have included current National Development Program representatives, Nathan Brown, Greg Daniel, TJ Eisenhart, Logan Owen, Jacob Rathe, and Lawson Craddock.
Selections will be based on survey responses, athlete development camp testing results, national and local race results. Favor will be given to athletes that have demonstrated ability to work and race at a very high level in the United States. With only 12 riders being selected (6 for each camp), it is expected that it will be very competitive to get into this camp.
