Celebrate change in women’s professional cycling!

This Memorial Day weekend, USA Cycling and race sponsors gave the women a well-deserved accolade by providing their fans and followers live coverage of the US Pro Championships via Tour Tracker.  It wasn’t just a highlight or recap of the race but a FULL coverage of the Time Trial and the Road Race in Chattanooga.  Olympic Gold Medalist Kristin Armstrong co-hosted the live coverage with tons of race knowledge, professional grace and absolutely awesome race commentary.

A flood of tweets from European fans and professional women cyclists also enjoyed talking about the drama that unfolded in the race as they watched it online.  This was a history in a making in USA cycling.  Equal prizing for men and women.  The men and women raced on the same course and the same day.  The women’s race was as exciting as the men’s race.  There was a lot of respect for one another at the same time fierce competition for the red, blue and white jersey.

Camaraderie and sportsmanship exploded as tweets from competitors sparkled with big congratulations to Jade Wilcoxson and “Fast” Freddie winning the most coveted prize of the year in USA professional cycling.  Congratulations to everyone!

Is this too good to be true?  You better believe it.  Women’s professional cycling is making positive waves.

Check out the men and women press conference post-race!
