For Immediate Release: The 2013 Smug Mug NCNCA Photography Event Begins Now!
Professional and amateur artists who photograph bicycle racing events each week make the sport accessible to the public. These photographers dedicate hours to perfecting their craft. They do it because they love bike racing and they love photography.
The 2013 Smug Mug Northern California Nevada Cycling Association Photography Event was created to celebrate their dedication by holding a contest for which the artist will submit her/his best work of the 2013 season. A blue ribbon winner will be chosen by a panel of judges and the winner will be announced at the October 19th NCNCA board meeting.
To compliment the Smug Mug Northern California Nevada Cycling Association Photography Event, there will also be a public vote. NCNCA members, bicycle racing fans, and photographers alike are encouraged to vote for their favorite photograph.
Rules: Submissions should be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org. Photo must have been taken in the 2013 racing season. Photo must include date, race. The subject title for the email should be “[artists last name], 2013 Submission.” The artist may also submit a headshot or avatar, a 500 word or less biography, and a link to her/his photography website to be displayed on the event website to the same email address, with the subject title “[artists last name], bio.” A photograph with a watermark must be accompanied by a version without a watermark. The watermarked photo will be displayed on the event website but the judges will be viewing obscured photographs. Photographs may be in black and white or color but no photo shopped or otherwise altered photos will be accepted. Only the artist may submit her/his original work. There is no fee for entering this event. Submissions must be made by October 10th 2013 at midnight. Photographs will be reviewed by a panel of impartial judges. A blue ribbon winner will be announced at the October 19th, 2013 NCNCA board meeting. A public, or popular vote, will also be tallied. The winner of the public vote will be announced at the October 19th 2013 NCNCA board meeting. The winner of the Smug Mug Northern California Nevada Cycling Association Photography Event will win a one year subscription to Smug Mug. Best of luck!
