• Advanced Concussion Training for the greater Tahoe community

    Sportgevity is hosting an innovative concussion education program, sponsored by the Tahoe Institute for Rural Health Research (TIRHR) and presented by the California Concussion Coalition and SLI.

    The SLI Advanced Concussion Training (ACT) will be presented by Coalition Co-Chair and Chief Medical Officer of the 2012 U.S. Olympic Team, Cindy J. Chang, M.D., and Coalition Co-Chair and Executive Director of the Mt. Diablo Memory Center Sport Concussion Program Eric Freitag, Psy.D.

    The 90-minute multimedia presentation will take audience members from concussion basics through advanced concepts and strategies to create a safer sports environment. Designed for coaches, teachers, parents, athletes, school and government officials, the ACT is free and open to the public thanks to California Concussion Coalition sponsors, including Kaiser Permanente, Brock International, King-Devick Test, Centre for Neuro Skills, Los Angeles Unified School District, and Council Member of District 4 of the City of Los Angeles Tom LaBonge.
