We are posting up a new podcast today featuring two NorCal superstars, Beth Newell and Elle Anderson (California Giant-Specialized.)
NCCN regular Beth Newell checks in with us to talk about her recent World Cup points race silver medal from Manchester. Anybody that reads NCCN with any regularity will know that Newell has shown consistent, and impressive, progress over the years. Her World Cup performance in Manchester is just the latest stop on her quest to the 2016 Olympics. This weekend Newell is competing at the Los Angeles Grand Prix which should be playing on Universal Sports Friday evening.
We also speak with U.S. cyclocross phenom Elle Anderson. Anderson moved to NorCal last year to work for Strava and quickly became a fixture on the NorCal race circuit. She posted several impressive races both locally, and nationally last year, and this season has taken the U.S. cyclocross scene by storm. After racing for Vanderkitten this summer, Anderson started her current season by winning her first several UCI races. She then became one of the few U.S. riders to beat Katie Compton, with an impressive ride at the Providence Cyclocross Festival. Anderson talks about her background in skiing, how to pronounce her name, and some of her favorite Strava segments. Anderson is the current leader of the US Pro CX series, and it will be cool to see what she can do once she starts riding World Cups and the big Euro races later this year, or next year.
