MADERA, CA. – While the timing results are not yet available at the time of this writing, the Ben Hur Hill Climb went off today without a hitch. With 6 miles of rollers (including one VERY bumpy and torn up section of road as a prelude to the gravel sections of the upcoming Chico Stage Race) followed by a steady 4 mile climb to the finish, 73 riders were registered.

Notable appearances were made by pro women Specialized/Lululemon’s Tayler Wiles and Evelyn Stevens as they competed with the men in the first wave of the P/1/2 category. Combined with fierce young talent from U23 teams Cal Giant/Specialized, Bear Development, and Hagens Berman, the race against the clock would be intense.

In the 45+ 1/2/3s, Morgan Stanley and ZIPZ had the numbers with four each. Other teams seemingly had a single representative each.

After dabbling a bit in racing (and not doing very good at it), he decided to pick up a camera and take pictures at the races to still be a part of the action. Chances are if the race is within a 2 hour driving window from Sacramento, you'll find him somewhere along the course. You may find his photos at http://acaurora.smugmug.com
