Editor’s Note: In 2014, VuMedi was a young inexperienced team which introduced a number of new faces to the races of NorCal. Over the course of the season, the squad gradually gained a foothold in the peloton, culminating with Garrett Hankins victory at Giro SF. In 2015, the team has brought on a group of very talented experienced riders to surround and foster the younger riders development. Over the years, this same approach transformed Cal Giant into the national-caliber program that it is today. The roster contains many intriguing additions and new names, among them, Kirk Carlsen, who is joining the team as a mentor since transitioning out of professional cycling. 2015 is not just a bright horizon for the new squad – Bryan Larsen has already won 2 NorCal races, beginning at Cal Aggie. Today, Jonathan Sandoval won Cantua Creek Road Race down in Mendota County. As it stands, VuMedi is the winningest team during this year’s season-openers.
VuMedi Cycling Team Announces 2015 Program
VuMedi Cycling Team is pleased to present our 2015 program of riders and sponsors. For 2015, VuMedi Cycling Team will continue pursuing our chief objective: developing young riders to the elite level. To achieve this end, VuMedi Cycling Team is registering as a Domestic Elite Program for 2015.
For our second year running, VuMedi Cycling Team’s 16-rider roster will be based out of Northern California. We will be sending the Domestic Elite Team to National Calendar Races in the Western United States.
Staying true to our roots, the Development Team will remain focused on providing a platform and team structure for our riders to grow within. We are putting our younger riders together with older, experienced, and very talented veterans to accelerate their development over the course of the season.
Our model promotes both rider development and brand ambassadorship for our sponsors, who make this experience possible. Our program seeks to connect our phenomenal sponsors with the audience we have cultivated around our riders’ development experience.
For 2015, VuMedi Cycling Team will be aboard the NeilPryde Nazare frame, equipped with SRAM Force 22 components, and Thomson cockpits with The BarFly 2.0 computer mount. Our racing rigs will be rolling on American Classic wheels and Panaracer tires. While our riders will be comfortably seated on Selle Italia saddles.
Each rider will be wearing Jakroo custom cycling apparel, protected by POC Helmets, and made even more aerodynamic, and resilient in nasty wet weather, by our official shoe cover, veloToze.
Hammer Nutrition will be fueling VuMedi Cycling Team’s racing and training with bars, gels, and performance specific drink mixes. Performance support will be managed by Cycleution Coaching. And our service course will be located at Real Wheels Bicycle Studio in the heart of Nevada City, CA.
RockTape will keep our hardworking riders’ aches and pains under control with their official kinesiology tape sponsorship.
