Race organizer and Glacier Cycling Principal Coby Rowe said, “Nevada is filled with great traditions and this is the beginning of another. Cyclo-cross is the fastest growing segment of the cycling industry and its growth in Nevada is equally as impressive. I have been working with Steve Clausse in Las Vegas to help engage the southern and northern athletes.” Rowe added, “This race will be a separate competition from the NCNCA or SCNCA district championships and allows Nevada cyclists a chance to compete against each other. The state of Nevada is geographically massive and we don’t often ride against each other for that reason. A State Championships that takes place north/south each year is a great solution.”
The race taking place on December 12th, 2015 will be a sanctioned USA Cycling Cyclo-cross race where any can enter into their licensed category but only the highest finishing Nevada Resident will receive the State Champion Titles.
The competition will take place at Hidden Valley Regional Park on the East Side of Reno. The park is known for its loose sandy terrain, a long stair run-up, barriers and the often seen wild horses that roam Nevada.
