Regions Bike Race Weekend
With it’s ideal early season location in Southwest Georgia, Albany is the second stop in the GCGP. The stage race begins with a TT on the river side streets of downtown Albany. Next is the figure-eight, 2 km course through downtown Albany. The Road Race on Sunday will wrap up the first stage race of the GCGP with a simple 54.5 Km loop in the suburbs of Albany. Get your legs ready for a great set of races in the riverside city of Albany held in conjunction with Albany’s Mardi Gras. -MORE-
The 30th Annual Athens Twilight
THE 30th ANNUAL ATHENS TWILIGHT - is a professional cycling event and festival fun for fans, families, and racers. You heard right - this is the 30th Annual Twilight, and to celebrate, this year’s Twiilght will be bigger and better. Year two for UGA School of Music will hosting the Jazz Festival in Downtown Athens, and the Georgia Cycle Sport Grid Qualifiers will let you get up-close-and-personal with your favorite professional rider as they battle it out Friday night for coveted starting places in America’s best criterium. -MORE-
USA Crits Speed Week
SPEED WEEK - Start out fast at the Twilight and keep going throughout the south for 8 days of racing. Athens, GA -Roswell, GA-Beaufort, SC-Walterboro, SC-Spartanburg, SC- Charlottte, NC - and the final day in Sandy Springs, GA. 8 days and $80,000 for men and $40,000 for women. Fast crits, big crowds and large purses make up the biggest week of racing in the south. -MORE-
Georgia Cycling Gran Prix
GEORGIA CYCLING GRAN PRIX - In its inaugural year this series associates Georgia’s best long standing events into a yearlong points system. The events bring the racer great venues, fast results reporting, friendly registration staff, and most importantly, fun and safe racing. Anchored by the 30th Annual Athens Twilight Criterium and the third annual Gwinnett Bike Fest, the GCGP is excited to combine these great events into a solid racing series. -MORE-

I did my time as a roadie in Georgia - was a GREAT place to race bikes. Big money crits a short drive away all Spring long, great roads for training and road racing, and of course, “Twilight” was the big event/festival of the season.
