Notables from Hoodie-ville
NorCal riders are doing well up in Oregon this week for the Mt. Hood Classic. Mount Hood is a ridiculously difficult stage race that tests riders against wind, rain, and steeply long climbs that slap you around like LAPD on critical mass night.
Paul Mach … the big blossom of 2010 … won himself the prologue and then had the jersey taken by United Healthcare during the next day’s criterium. This is a godsend for the 3-rider BISSELL team ~ as now the UHC boyz will have to defend the jersey in the upcoming, and thoroughly epic Mt Adams road stage. Mach will show his stripes and ride the wave of UHC riders defense of the jersey … and have a good chance at reclaiming the lead in Friday’s time trial.
Another good showing was put in by the Yahoo’ligans Ryan Parnes, storming to an impressive 3rd for the prologue. But we do need to work on Parnes’ ceremony attire … as jeans are so no-pro on the podium.
Friday Night Track Racing
Racine Productions is giving you another night of fun and mayhem at the Hellyer Velodrome. The sound system is fixed for this week … so, looking forward to heckling track riders all night long. Sterling Sports is providing the food and beverages ~ so come out and race it up, or cheer on the racing.
This week is a special event … Women’s 3/4 racing is highlighted, with only one men’s field (1,2,3). Sprint tournament is on, as well. Yeehaw for racing without brakes!

Pacific Grove really turns out the style for this event, so come on down and get your name shouted to the skies.

If you’ve never had one of Flandria’s waffles … oh heavens, you just haven’t lived.
These things will make a Saturday morning just that bit sweeter … i’m talking from experience, folks.
Bike deliver, mail delivery … or you can pick them up from a very cool set of folks at La Dolce Velo Bike Shop (one of the best bike shops around).
