SavageSprints & Red Parties

Sunday means Savage Sprints in Sacto

keller_ssprints.jpgThe Sacramento Bee has a short, but sweet article on the Sacramento Valley Velodrome Association’s hard work in grassrooting a second velodrome sproutup in Norcal.  Hardman Dean Alleger is working 24/7 on the project and if you’ve ever seen him attack in a points race … you know there won’t be a chance in hell he’ll give up on making this dream concrete.

Do your part and comment on the article to show support for what will be a tremendous asset to our cycling community.  Riding your bike without having to worry about cars is what mountain biking is all about … and it’s even better with no brakes.  So, support the SVVA, please!

And if you don’t do the fools-ball … Sunday evening in Sacto is the Savage Sprints fundraiser for the SVVA.  It’s a very cool party in a casual, but suave atmosphere at the Hot Italian.  The beer is cold, the pizza is hot, and the roller sprints are sizzling.

Kegs are good for the Heart

sf_velo_mash.jpgSpeaking of my favorite liquid … got word from major madonna of Velo|SF, Kate Ligler, that there is going to be some serious keg’er action available at the Red Racing American Heart Association FUN-draiser and superparty.

Velo|SF (747 Front St. in San Francisco) is super close to BART, so hop on mass transit and enjoy a kickass Saturday evening of partying with your cycling buddies.  The ride has been sold out (very cool), but the silent auction from 5-9pm offers chances to swipe some sweet schwag ~ and the party from 6-9pm will be off the hook.

Head over to the city Saturday night and replenish the carbs burned during your pedal filled hours of sunshine and sassyfrass.
