TOC Day 6 – Awesome Award

Awesome!

It was another exciting day at the TOC with the inaugural Women’s TT invitational, and the of course, the men’s TT.  Kristin Armstong proved she’s back in a big way with a 12 second lead over runner up Amber Neeben.  It’s a nice high profile win for Nicola Cranmer’s Peanut Butter 2012 squad.  Ali Starne’s had a good ride slotting in 1:41 for a 9th place finish – I would guess that Starnes has legs that can equal Armstrong, but doesn’t have the killer instinct yet.

The men’s race was unsurprising except for the fact that Zabriske, who never should have left Santa Cruz, out paced Levi for the win.  I suppose I should give the award to Levi, but I think i might reserve it in the event that he goes crazy on Mt. Baldy tomorrow.  How appropriate would it be for the little bald dude to go nuts on Mt. Baldy.  Never mind, too perfect, he’ll never do it…i’ll give it to him today.

I was pretty stoked to see Talansky slot in right behind Christian Vande Velde for an 11th place finish.  He’s riding with some pretty heavy hitters now so if he’s still has some climbing legs tomorrow should be a good day for him.
