Weekend Update

October 31st, 2011      By: Hellyer

Cross Update from Dusty Downs

Fresh off the press, is Dusty Downs weekend Cross update written in his customary iambic pentameter style.  Looks like Rambuski Law and Rock Lobster continued their domination with wins in both Women’s and Men’s division.

Keeping it fun was the continuing theme over the weekend for Nor-Cal Cyclocross with two races in Fresno and the Surf City event at Aptos High School. Special thanks to Aptos High Principal, and stellar all- around cyclists Casey O’Brien for his commitment to Cyclocross racing for both Juniors & Adults. JUMP TO FULL ARTICLE ON NCNCA CX

Our favorite Euro-NorCal Interloper, Pascale Schnider, has joined the Team Formerly Known as Peanut Butter & Co 2012 and now called Team Exergy. Right on… now pick up some more locals.

After six years in the European peloton, Swiss born Pascale Schnider moves to the U.S for a full season with Exergy TWENTY12.  2011 saw Schnider win both Swiss Elite Time Trial and Road National Championship and also National titles on the track. Other notable results this year were an Overall win Hana Tour, Czech Republic and Tour Cycliste Féminin International de l’Ardèche, France, 2.2 where Schnider was 3rd in the prologue and 5th in the time trial.

Aussie Interlopers Summer Riding

Several of the Webcor Aussie Interlopers, Bec Werner and Ange McClure, were picked up by Specialized for  what I assume is their summer schedule.

Along with Phillipou, who has ridden in the past for the Honda Dream Team and Virgin Blue RBS Morgans will be Rebecca Werner who is fresh off a stellar season riding with Webcor on the American NRC and all rounder Trudy Van Der Straaten who is known for her tenacity in criteriums.

The team’s climbers Narelle Hards and Angela McClure will be looking to the mountains to show their skills and experience, McClure having just returned from Europe where she rode on the UCI Kleo Ladies team. JUMP TO FULL ARTICLE ON CYCLINGNEWS
