TVC Day 1

July 2nd, 2011      By: Hellyer

I have been en route to the east coast since 10:30 am PST Friday morning but I was able to stay up to date on happenings at the Testarossa Velodrome Challenge thanks to the tweets of and the photos of (http://www.podiuminsight.com/2011/07/02/testarossa-american-velodrome-challenge-day-1/). Be sure to check them out on twitter for a recap of Friday and updates on Saturdays action.

Friday racing was dominated by the big shots. In the keirin the Project London boys put Jimmy Watkins in the top spot showing that they are taking their run at the 2012 Olympics seriously. Jame Carney won both the Win-N-Out and Miss-N-Out adding fuel to the legend that he cannot be beat in an elimination race on American soil. Our favorite part time Norcal resident, Pascale Schneider, won an exciting points race ahead of Erica Allar and local favorite Beth Newell.

Racing is underway as I put this together on a mobile device, and reports coming in say that the Project London team all broke the Hellyer 200 Meter record during sprint seedings. For the latest action check out the #hellyer hashtag on Twitter.

After winning the Win-N-Out and Miss-N-Out, Jame Carney ate at In-N-Out.
